Baby Diet

A proper baby diet is essential for the growth and development of the baby. You should always remember that food good for adults is not always good for babies. In order to provide the babies with proper baby diet, you should consult a doctor. The doctors will help you with some information, which will help you in feeding the baby properly. You should also remember that breastfeeding is the best food for the babies in the initial few weeks. Later on bottle-feeding can be introduced.

Few important things regarding baby diet are mentioned. Go through the article to know more:
  • For first two years babies need full cream milk and cheese. This is important because their bodies will not be able to absorb important vitamins and minerals.
  • Cow's milk can cause allergies in some babies. They may, hence, be given goat's milk. This is also a part of baby diet. Some other food, which can cause allergies, include egg whites, peanut butter, soybeans, fish, pears, beans and certain spices.
  • It should be kept in mind that frequent changes will affect the food habit of the baby. You should always introduce one food at a time. It will also help you in knowing which food is causing allergy to the baby.
  • Do not fill the baby's stomach with fiber, as their stomach is not big and developed. Otherwise, the baby will not get the vitamins and minerals needed.
  • With age, eggs and milk should be introduced in the diet of the babies. Babies can be vegetarian but these items will help in the development of the baby.
  • Provide the baby with lots of fruit and vegetables but do not give him or her juice. Excessive juice may cause diarrhea and harm the health of the baby.
  • Nuts are not allowed as they can choke them and affect their health.
Speaking of baby diet, you can make various items at home and feed your baby. This may include pureeing and mashing vegetables and meats. You can start mashing food less finely as baby starts getting older. As the child gets older start giving cubes of fruit, cheese, tofu, bread, toast, crackers and squares of cooked potatoes. This you can start when the child is one year old.

You should also have a look at the fact that there are proper amounts of calcium, vitamins, carbohydrates and cereals in the baby diet.
This will help in the proper growth of the baby. This will provide the baby with a balanced baby diet and helps in its growth.
