If the baby is a breast fed baby you should not stop the feeding. It has been noticed that diarrhea in babies can be cured very quickly by breast feeding.

If it is found that your baby is thirsty even after the nursing period or in between two nursing periods give the baby an oral rehydration solution. Pedialyte is one of the most common type of oral rehydration solutions. You can give your child kaolectrolyte a grape flavored oral rehydration solution.

There are many symptoms of dehydration in a baby. Dehydration causes dry eyes in the babies. Mouth of the babies suddenly become dry. Diarrhea in babies will lessen the total number of urine passed by a baby. A baby suffering from diarrhea will wet the diapers fewer than usual. All these are the signs of mild dehydration. A baby suffering from moderate dehydration will show some other symptoms.
The skin of the baby will become dry. The baby will become very idle. The baby will have very sunken eyes.

Those babies who are suffering from severe form of dehydration shows a sunken fontanelle, which means a soft spot on the forehead. The baby suffering from severe dehydration will not urinate for 6 long hours.
