Ectopic pregnancy is caused when a fertilized egg plants itself outside uterus. In most of the cases, the egg gets settled in the fallopian tube and this is the reason why Ectopic pregnancy is also known as tubal pregnancy. In fallopian tube, there is no space and nurturing tissue and so, the fetus eventually gets damaged along with the organ in which it nestles.
This types of damage can lead to severe bleeding and can endanger the pregnant woman's life. Ectopic pregnancy cannot develop to live birth as the fetus gets damaged at the early stage of pregnancy.

Ectopic pregnancy refers to that fertilization of the egg that has taken in the wrong place within the female body. Abdominal pain, cramps, pelvic and shoulder pain, internal and vaginal bleeding are some of the common symptoms for Ectopic pregnancy. Most of the Ectopic pregnancies end up with miscarriages and these miscarriages take place at such an early stage of pregnancy that in most of the cases the women do not even realize that they were pregnant.

It is necessary to note that Ectopic pregnancy can even occur in ovary, abdomen and cervix. Women suffering from Pelvis Inflammatory Disease or having damaged fallopian tubes usually have the tendency of having Ectopic pregnancy.
