Natural Family Planning

In many countries, especially in Asian countries such as India and China, population is a huge problem that leads to various setbacks in economic and social development and improvement. To avoid such critical situations, it is always advised to opt for proper family planning. Apart from artificial methods, there are some natural family planning methods that couples can follow to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Scroll through this page to get detailed knowledge about natural family planning.

According to medical reports, a woman stays fertile for about 100 to 120 hours in a month of 30 days. This span of 120 hours is termed as "window of fertility". Sexual intercourse in this span of time has the highest chance of a woman getting pregnant. If you want to avoid pregnancy by natural measures, then proper information on natural family planning is a must. One should have a clear idea of the fertility cycle and the time when the chance of conceiving is the highest.

The most common concept of natural family planning is to avoid intercourse during the fertile period. In present age, two methods of natural family planning are used- the Temperature Method and the Calendar Method.

Temperature Method:

During ovulation, a woman's body temperature initially drops and then rises slightly. It keeps on increasing until the next period. According to reports, the normal temperature ranges between 96 and 98 degree. But in time of ovulation that lasts for at least 3 days, the temperature rises to 97 to 98 degree. From the fourth day until the last day of next period, it is said to be the safe period; in this period the chance of conceiving remains the lowest. To make this method of natural family planning effective, one needs to maintain a chart of the daily temperature.

Calendar Method:

In women, ovulation occurs 14 days before the start of the next menstruation cycle, irrespective of the length of the cycle. The three days after ovulation is considered as the safe period. Not only this, the two- three days after the completion of the menstruation cycle is also safe as women have a 28 day cycle.

Calendar method is only applicable for those who have regular period cycle. This method is unreliable for those having longer or irregular cycle.

Those who are against the use of artificial contraceptives can opt for these ways of natural family planning to have an organized and happy family life. Stay with pregnancyxl.com to know all about pregnancy tips for women.
