Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer

The scientific procedure involved in human reproduction needs to be effective. Conception involves certain complicated physiological stages. There are certain systematic stages which lead to it. From the time the ovules and the sperms are formed to when conception take place, the organs need to enact each stage efficiently. Otherwise this could result in conditions of infertility. Thereby repeated attempts to conceive go in vain. However, there is good news in store for you. For it is one of the gifts of science, that has given hope to childless couples. There are quite a number of fertility treatments available. These range between externally induced methods to injections, egg donation to even surgical procedures. Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer, is one of the forms of assisted reproductive technology. It combines the stages involved in both InVitro Fertilization as well as Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer. By resorting to Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer, the medical practitioner tries to stimulate the ovary to produce eggs.

Therefore, the initial stages in Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer comprise the prescribing of medication to women, which will help in the maturation of the egg follicles. The women is then administered anesthesia. The doctor collects these eggs. From here on the eggs are taken to a laboratory. The male partner's sperms are then made to fuse with the eggs. This procedure takes time. In other words the sperm and the egg are given time in order, for fertilization to take place.

The next stage in Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer comprises the transfer of fertilized eggs back into the female uterus. It is important to mention here that the renowned surgery, laparoscopy is carried out henceforth. A small incision is made just below the navel. The fertilized eggs are inserted into the fallopian tubes. About one to four embryos are inserted back into the system. They ovaries make their way to the uterus through the fallopian tube. It is here that the normal process of gestation starts.

This technique could not be recommended to women, whose fallopian tubes are blocked. On an average, 36% women have got pregnant by resorting to this technique.
It is known that 29% of women have given births to healthy babies. An interesting observation made in this respect is that childless couples can even have twins and triplets, since it involves the maturation of multiple embryos.
