Carbohydrates being one of the major component of the human body, its obvious that the intake of carbohydrates cannot be ignored by the would be mothers during pregnancy. Low carbohydrate level may affect the overall well being of the mother and the child. Though there are no recommended dietary allowance , medical practitioners often advice the consumption of carbohydrates that provides about 55% of body energy.
