Baby Showers

Baby Showers are cozy events at any of the mother-to-be's friend's place where close guests congregate essentially to celebrate the baby to be born and shower it with gifts. The shower may be hosted by a close friend (or friends) of the mother-to-be. Baby showers are a tradition not held at the place of mother-to-be's family member as it is primarily a gift-giving event. But today family members generally help and often plan the showers in many places.
Another issue which arises is that should a shower be held for the second baby? Here there are differing viewpoints. As most parents already have the required things for the second baby from the shower of the first one and on the other hand, every child's birth should be a cause of celebration, the idea of a baby sprinkle instead of a baby shower for those who are already mothers. All guests are invited to to celebrate this joyous occasion, but instead of bringing big gifts, guests bring essentials like diapers, infant food and many other bric a brac that are needed for an infant and in large quantities. Such occasions are called diaper showers and these too are a big thing in pregnancy and maternity.

There are a whole load of other issues which constitute a check list of sort for baby showers. The checklist is:

How many people should be invited?
Should I invite friends who have recently had pregnancy difficulties or are having difficulty conceiving?
Who should be invited?
When should the shower be held?
How does one throw a co-ed or men-only shower?
What about having a shower after the baby is born?
Is it proper to have a shower for a baby other than the first?
What should the invitations look like?
What about showers for adopted babies?
What information should be included in the invitations?
When should guests RSVP by?
When should the invitations be mailed?
Should the shower be a surprise?
How long should the shower last?
What order should events happen at the shower?
Does a shower have to have games?
That food should be served at the shower?
What are some good shower games?
Are shower favors for guests necessary?

The above is essential for the success of any baby shower.
