Urine Test

Urine Test is used to detect pregnancy. It is usually done if a woman does not have a period.
The urine test detects the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in urine.

About Urine Test:

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone that is secreted by the placenta after the embryo clings to the uterine lining.

The HCG hormone is responsible for producing the symptoms of the pregnancy.

Procedures of Urine Test:

There is a pregnancy detection stick.
The urine has to be collected in a boiled container and the stick is dipped in the container containing urine.
The urine that is passed out in the morning should be collected for conducting Urine Test.
The first urine passed out in the morning has the maximum amount of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG).

The urine test can find 25 to 50 mIU of HCG during the 4th or 5th week of pregnancy.
The change in the color of the stick signifies positive results for pregnancy.

The positive result of the urine test signifies the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG).

Urine Test is the preliminary test for detection of pregnancy. It is,however not the confirmatory test for detection of pregnancy.

There are many cases where the urine test turns out to be negative in the first attempt.
The same test gives positive result when conducted after a specific period.
The reason for this may be attributed to the fact that the urine test was conducted a little early.

Many cases also happen when the urine test appears to be positive in the first attempt.

The test gives negative result when it is conducted after a short gap.
The reason for this is generally miscarriage.
Urine test kits are manufactured by many pharmaceutical companies of the world.
