Invitro Fertilization Process

There are numerous people in this world who are not able to reproduce for various medical reasons or conditions. Infertility is one of the major problems which is faced by many living in the present world. The great progress which medical science has made enables the infertile couples to get treated for their inability for producing off-springs in the normal way. There are various treatments for infertility which modern day science has made available to the people. The In-vitro fertilization is one of the major ways of getting around the infertility problem. The topic of In-vitro fertilization is discussed below.

The Invitro fertilization process , or IVF, involves the complicated task of fertilizing the female eggs by the male sperm outside the uterus. This is one of the methods of artificial fertilization which is utilized in cases where all other possible options are exhausted. The technique is as difficult as complicated. In this process, the ovulation period of the woman has to be brought under control. The control is achieved by the means of hormones. Once the ovulation process begins, the ova or the eggs are collected from the ovary. The ova is then brought in contact with the male sperm in a fluid medium.

Once the ovum is fertilized, the zygote is formed. The zygote is implanted in the uterus of the woman upon which the process of pregnancy starts. There are a large number of medical establishments which offer In-vitro fertilization services to the infertile couples. One has to remember though, that pregnancy and eventual childbirth is not assured in all the cases. There are plenty of factors on which the success of such a treatment depends. But In-vitro fertilizations are certainly one of the better methods available for treating infertility cases in humans.
