Pregnancy in 6th Week

Pregnancy in 6th week has the fetus developing definite feature like head where there are eyes, nose and ears. The emerging features like eyes, nose and ears can be visible in this phase of pregnancy. All the internal organs gradually develop in this phase. On sixth week pregnancy, most women have definite physical changes in the body. There is slight protruding of the belly in the body. The three region of the brain is formed during this time. The division in the heart too is seen and it beats at the rate of 150 beats per minute. The functioning of the heart begins from the time it had developed completely in the embryo.

Glands and muscle fibers begin to form in the embryo in pregnancy in 6th week. The respiratory and digestive systems develop along with inner ear and larynx. What is remarkable about the sixth week pregnancy is that the embryo makes its first movements. The movements made during this phase are not felt by the mother as the fetus is very small. The movements made by it are slight and so cannot be detected by the expecting mother. The movements are felt by the mother at later stages when the baby is fully developed with limbs. The fetus gets its nutrition from the umbilical cord and placenta in this stage of pregnancy.

The symptoms of pregnancy in 6th week are morning sickness, dizziness, fatigue, increase in weight, tiredness and vomiting. These are very common symptoms and at times it is seen that many women do not have these symptoms. In cases of nausea, the food intake reduces. Doctors should be consulted in order to cure it. The hormone levels increase and so there are many changes seen. The breasts become sore as pregnancy advances. Increase in appetite comes along with craving for food and eating leads to the gaining of weight. In this phase, there are regular check ups that needs to be done in order to ensure that the baby is fine.

Pregnancy in 6th week requires proper maintaining of health and diet. In order to keep the baby healthy, one can exercise and take the medicines prescribed by the doctor. Healthy food is very necessary because the baby draws nutrition from the mother. Habits like smoking, drinking and intake of drugs must be avoided for the fetus to grow into a healthy baby. Depression in women during pregnancy too is harmful for the baby. The increase in weight starts from this phase.
