Premature Baby

Premature Baby is a new born baby who has arrived in the world before its due time. A normal pregnancy usually lasts for 40 weeks. A baby born before the 37th week of gestation can be referred as a Premature Baby. A whole lot of medical complications and ill habits practiced by women are usually responsible for Premature Baby. It has been seen that women who get pregnant before the age of eighteen or after the age pf 35 are most prone to premature births. However, one can also give birth to a Premature Baby if one consumes tobacco, alcohol and other drugs during pregnancy.

Care for Premature Baby

When a Premature Baby is born, he deserves patient observation and care. Most of the times, a Premature Baby is kept inside an incubator. The incubator is nothing but a glass walled compartment equipped with oxygen mask and other ingredients. Here the baby is kept in isolation from the external environment till he is physically developed enough to come out of the incubator.

During this period optimum conditions are artificially created inside the incubator to provide the Premature Baby with proper care. However, incubator and other facilities can only be offered to some Premature Baby. In case the baby is born with half formed limbs or other organs, he can die soon after his birth.

Causes of giving birth to Premature Baby

If the pregnant mother has prior history of miscarriage she is most likely to give birth to a Premature Baby. Moreover, if the lady is carrying more than one babies in her womb, she can give birth to Premature Babies. Internal bleeding within the vagina, cervix or uterus can also result into the birth of a Premature Baby. Infections in the urinary tract or internal hemorrhage can also induce the birth of a Premature Baby. Tremendous anxiety during pregnancy,super fast lifestyle, maternal diabetes and periodontal diseases are also responsible for the birth of Premature Baby.

If the pregnant lady is already a victim of sexually transmitted diseases, kidney diseases and Beta Strep, she can give birth to a Premature Baby. Moreover, many pregnant women in the underdeveloped countries suffer from malnutrition. A diet rich in carbohydrate, protein, saturated fat and vitamins is ideal for a pregnant woman. Giving birth to a Premature Baby can be avoided if the pregnant lady takes proper rest and abstains from the consumption of tobacco, alcohol and carbon monoxide.
